What is an IAP?

An Internet access point (IAP) is a GPRS or high-speed connection provided by your telecom operator.

If your phone is not set up with an access point, you can add one manually.

Note: You cannot use a WAP gateway as your Internet access point.

Adding access points

  1. Open "Tools" and go to "Settings"
  2. Select "Connection" and "Access points"
  3. Press "Options" and select "New access point"
  4. If asked, choose "Default settings"

Opera provides an on-line guide for setting up access points:

Tip: Access this information with your PC browser.

Establish connection

A connection dialog will pop up if you are not connected to the Internet. Select an access point, and your phone will establish a connection.

Tip: You can select a default access point, and even set Opera to connect automatically.
